Growing Monsters - Halloween

The Monster Makers!

This year for Halloween we wanted to do something fun, but not frightening for the toddlers at my son's birthday party. so we came up with "Monster Makers"

Needed:
Materials Used for Monster Grow Jars - I super glued a big eyeball on the top of the jar :)
*Several Mason Jars (we used Mainstays),
*Some "Grow-in-Water" Monsters (err...we got at a garage sale).
*Crayola® Color Bath Dropz (going to crush to make "herbs")
*Googly Eyes (aka "Eyes of Newt")
*Glitter (aka "Fairy Dust")
*Glow Sticks (Radiation!)
*Safety Goggles (to look awesome)

Step 1: I pre-soaked the the Monsters for 15 hours BEFORE the party. That way they'd be half-way done. The Glow sticks only last for up to 12 hours, so by the time they die out the monster would be mostly full grown.

Step 2: Finally busted out the old Mortar and Pestle. Crush Crayola® Color Bath Dropz into a fine powder. Put into condiment cups.

Step 3: Making the "eyes of newt". Get a small clear container and fill with water. Add coloring (I used the Crayola Dropz). Add Googly eyes :)
Step 4: Get materials all ready for the "expirement" to begin!
Step 5: Add 2 toddler-sized pinches of Crayola® Color Bath Dropz. Mix 2 colors for a great effect!

Step 6: Add Glitter "Fairy Dust" and "Eyes of Newt"

Step 7: Add Glow Sticks / "Radiation"

Step 8: Add Monster! Seal it up and shake!
